Snowmobile Vermont in the "Northeast Kingdom" is Vermont’s most pristine backcountry! Snowmobiling in Vermont's "Northeast Kingdom" is the best that many dream about. While snowmobiling in the "Northeast Kingdom" you will see wildlife in its natural habitat, moose, deer, bear and other species of wildlife are abundant in the "Northeast Kingdom". Our mountaintops offer some of the best scenery that you only see in magazines and on television. The VAST Trail System which includes over 5,000 miles of wide corridor trails and hundreds of miles of secondary trails we lead you on an adventure that one will not forget, from farmyards to villages that welcome snowmobilers with open arms an unforgettable experience awaits you.

The VAST Snowmobile Trail System in Vermont's "Northeast Kingdom" is quite extensive and the snow pac lasts well into the end of April. One can spend the entire day and never ride on a snowmobile trail that you have already been on that day. The "Northeast Kingdom" which lies in the counties of Caledonia, Essex and Orleans offers many activities to make your snowmobiling adventure enjoyable. Many snowmobile clubs including the Brighton Snowmobile Club and other groups offer Pancake Breakfasts, Chicken Pie Diners, Bingo Games, Snowmobile Races, Porker Runs and much more.

You, your family, and friends will enjoy our many restaurants, motels, hotels, lodges and Bed and Breakfast, Inn's and general stores that cater to snowmobilers.

You can ride your sled right to their front door and can have a nice meal, and go back out for another ride. Local snowmobile dealers go out of their way in providing excellent, quick service.

TMA’s and Regulations

In order to snowmobile in Vermont your snowmobile must be registered and you must obtain a TMA. A TMA may be purchased from any area Snowmobile Club or Snowmobile Dealer, also many Hotels, Motels, Inn's and Bed and Breakfast and General Stores sell TMA’s.

Snow Conditions

Many of Vermont's snowmobile clubs that are responsible to keeping the snowmobile trails in top condition, groom two or more times a week as conditions allow. Most grooming is done at night to help prevent accidents and traffic problems as they groom at only 5MPH. It is a myth that a heavy snowfall makes smooth trails. A heavy snowfall needs time to let the snow settle before the groomers can do their job. Please let the groomers have the right away, they will get out of your way as soon as safety conditions allow. Thank them for the job that they are doing as many of them are volunteers.

Much of the Snowmobile Trail System is located on private property. Vermont's Snowmobile Clubs must get permission to put a trail on their land and to let you ride their property. Please stay on the marked trail, a landowner can at anytime shut down that trail and you will ruin it for not only yourself but also for others. It takes the members of the area clubs quite a bit of time to re-route a trail if one can be found. Also remember that these members are all volunteers and are like you and me. Be kind to other riders and follow the trail signs.
