Denver Post
on Jay Cutler: His first 21 starts compare favorably
against all the greats, but that does not put him above critique.
"He's got to work on ball position, he's got to work on footwork,
consistency with his short throws as well as medium-range throws,"
Shanahan said. "There's so many things - blitzes, how to react to
them. There's pressure, how to step up, and scramble. All the
things quarterbacks go through."

starting lineup Sunday at Kansas City. Cutler, who suffered a
severe bruise to his lower left leg last week against the Detroit
Lions, had his leg padded Wednesday at practice, but he took most
of the snaps with the first-team offense. Following practice,
Broncos coach Mike Shanahan said unless Cutler has a setback in
the injury, he should play. "I feel all right," Cutler said before

ESPN
: Broncos QB Jay Cutler seems less worried about his badly
bruised left leg than he does the state of the Broncos. The
second-year quarterback practiced through the pain Wednesday.
Cutler feared his season was over and his leg broken Sunday when
Lions DE Cory Redding speared him with his helmet. "To get the MRI
back and to see that it was just a deep bruise and nothing was
cracked or anything, it was a relief," Cutler said. "I mean, it's
a bruise. I can go ahead and push it and if it hurts, it hurts,
but it's not going to get any worse. "Cutler took most of the
snaps at practice and moved around well, Shanahan said. "He looked
good," Shanahan said. "Unless there's a setback, he should be
ready to go."

sure how much it hurt," Shanahan added, "but he was productive out
there. He took his normal (repetitions) - maybe a few less (than
usual)."

: Broncos QB Jay Cutler doesn't have the hairline fracture in
his left leg he feared. An MRI on Monday was negative, but HC
Shanahan said he didn't know if Cutler would practice much this
week or be under center Sunday at Kansas City. "He doesn't have a
stress fracture, which is a positive," Shanahan said. "The X-rays
were negative, the MRI was negative. So, we'll see how sore he is.
Right now he's quite sore. And we'll get a chance to see how he
feels on Wednesday."
